Association for Retarded Citizens of Florida – The mission of the Association for Retarded Citizens of Florida is to promote, for all people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities, the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they learn, live, work and access leisure activities.
Center for Autism and Related Disabilities – The Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (CARD) provides support and assistance with the goal of optimizing the potential of people with autism and related disabilities.
Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) – The mission of CARF is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through accreditation that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served.
Developmental Disabilities Strike Team’s Emergency Resource Guide – This handbook was created by The Sarasota COAD Developmental Disabilities Strike Team.
The Family CAFÉ – The idea that grew into the Family Cafe was the result of a vision – the vision of a statewide conference just for individuals with special needs and their families. A conference to become a forum where families and self-advocates could educate themselves on how to utilize the programs available to them and where professionals and policymakers could interact directly with the families and individuals they serve.
Family Caregiver Alliance – This is a community based non-profit organization that offers support services for caregivers of adults with AD, stroke, traumatic brain injury and other cognitive disorders.
Florida Association of Rehabilitation Facilities – Florida ARF’s mission is to “promote the interests of people with disabilities by acting as a public policy change agent, and to promote and serve the interests of community human service provider organizations.”
The Florida Developmental Disabilities Council – The Florida Developmental Disabilities Council encourages and advocates opportunities for persons with developmental disabilities and their families, to enhance their quality of life within their communities.
Family Network on Disabilities of Florida, Inc. – Family Network on Disabilities of Florida, Inc. is a statewide alliance of individuals with disabilities, special needs, or at-risk and their families. Our mission is to provide family-driven support, training, information, and advocacy.
Florida Statewide Advocacy Council – This is the appellate body for the Local Advocacy Council. The Statewide and Local Adcocacy Councils system is an individual protection mechanism for people receiving services from state agencies in Florida.
Florida Statewide Quality Assurance Program (FSQAP) – This site is for both providers and individuals who receive services in the state. It outlines the standards for quality assurance by the Delmarva Foundation.
RESPECT of Florida – RESPECT works with nonprofit organizations around the state of Florida, which employ persons with disabilities in the production of products and services. RESPECT’s purpose is to ensure a constant market for these products and services to state and local government agencies.
State of Florida, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation – A statewide employment resource for businesses and people with disabilities. The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation’s mission is to enable individuals with disabilities to obtain and keep employment
Supported Employment in Florida – Provides links with Federal and State websites for information related to supported employment and community-based employment for people with disabilities.
The Council on Quality and Leadership – The Council on Quality and Leadership is at the forefront of the movement to create opportunities for people to lead the lives they choose and to improve the quality of services and supports for people with disabilties and mental illness.
Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI) – Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI) is a statewide non profit 501(c)3 organization that administers the Specialized Telecommunications Equipment Distribution Program for citizens of Florida who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deaf/Blind and Speech Impaired
Sarasota Community Organizations Active in Disaster (Sarasota COAD) – The purpose of the Sarasota COAD is to advocate for and promote a coordinated countywide disaster preparedness planning initiative that aims to integrate human services agencies and faith-based organizations into the county’s disaster preparedness system.
The Giving Partner – The Giving Partner is a collaborative initiative of three community foundations: Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Gulf Coast Community Foundation, Manatee Community Foundation
Community Foundation of Sarasota County – The Community Foundation of Sarasota County is a public charity that provides innovative community leadership by encouraging permanent charitable endowment.
Gulf Coast Community Foundation – is a public charity that, together with its donors, works to transform its region through bold and proactive philanthropy. It is Florida’s largest community foundation and has awarded more than $120 million in grants in the areas of arts and culture, health and human services, education, civic and economic development, and the environment.
Manatee Community Foundation – The Manatee Community Foundation is a creative, cost-effective and tax-efficient way for people to invest in the charitable causes they care about most. The Manatee Community Foundation has grown to over 100 donor funds and $21 million in assets. Over $5 million in grants and scholarships have been “given back” to the community since 1998. Eighteen non profit agencies in the community have placed their endowments under the “umbrella” of MCF.

The Women’s Resource Center – The Women’s Resource Center of Sarasota County is a community-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit agency that has provided women (and men) with life skills training, career planning and educational scholarships in Sarasota County for over 30 years.
