Providing a safe, nurturing, learning environment to meet the individual needs of all our children.

The Selby Preschool responds to an important community need to invest in children with disabilities and special needs early in life and their families. The Preschool specializes its learning environment for the infants/children, birth thru five, who have disabilities and special needs. The Preschool offers Early Intervention so that developmental needs are identified early and services appropriated within the first three years of life. Introduction to Language, Emerging Early Literacy, The promotion of Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten, Pediatric Therapy (speech/language, physical, and occupational therapy), After-school Care, and Family Support Services/Whole Child Manatee, are part of the curriculum offered at the school. The opportunity to play and learn simultaneously offer powerful benefits for children with disabilities.

The Selby Preschool features Professional teachers and Para-Professional staff who meet Federal and State of Florida Department of Education rules regarding teacher certification in conjunction with therapists from Kidspot. Teachers are members of Early Learning Coalition.

Children are motivated to learn through play in an environment that encourages discovery, inquiry, and curiosity through styles of learning that best suits each individual preschool student. An Early Learning environment helps to eliminate the need for future remedial services.
